Alicia Loewen, Owner

Before spending a decade working in public tax and corporate finance senior accounting positions, Alicia always dreamed of becoming a math teacher. Deximal allows her to do both.

As a small business owner herself, Alicia understands how tough it is to grow while still finding time to enjoy all the amazing things life has to offer. As a teacher, she loves taking the time to show her clients how the latest accounting software can help make their lives easier. She also runs a small farm operation as her second business that has a 1,600-tree orchard of heritage apple varieties and plans to distill craft-batch hard cider with her husband and business partner, Adam. Alicia and Adam have two young sons who love to help their dad with farm chores.

Chrissy McGuire, CPA, CGA, Accounting Manager

Chrissy completed her Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2010 with a specialization in tax while working in a public practice. She then went on to corporate accounting as the Senior Budget Analyst at Servus Credit Union for nearly a decade.

Covid-19 necessitated a family shift, and Chrissy got the opportunity to learn new skills as an Executive Assistant for an Online Consultant. When searching for an online job opportunity in Accounting, she found Deximal, and we are lucky she did! Chrissy brings a unique combination of high-level accounting knowledge and insightful and kind communication skills to her role as Accounting Manager.

Chrissy lives in St Albert with her two young sons. As true Albertans, the whole family is big fans of the Oilers hockey team.

Danielle Collyer, Bookkeeper

Danielle comes from a science background and completed a Master’s Degree in Microbiology before a substantial career change.

Family circumstances led Danielle and her husband, Cam (also a science nerd!), to leave bustling Vancouver and relocate to the picturesque oceanside town of Chemainus. This led Danielle to consider a new career that would potentially incorporate the things she loved about science, including tracking data, spreadsheets, and numbers. She found that she was very interested in Bookkeeping and responded to our hiring ad. She has picked up the bookkeeping training remarkably fast and uses her skills in organization and data tracking in her work at Deximal.

Danielle has a clever sense of humour and a very friendly personality. Danielle spends her free time working on DIY renovation projects in her Chemainus home and she enjoys vegan cooking. Danielle is currently on maternity leave.
